Senior Underwriter, E&S Casualty

Position Summary We are seeking a candidate with strong in-person marketing skills and experience in construction, real estate, or manufacturing underwriting, who has established relationships within the E&S market (open to primary retail backgrounds as well). This is a hybrid position in Los Angeles, SanFrancisco, Denver, or Scottsdale, requiring 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Underwrite technical risks across diverse industries and multiple product lines, including Primary, Umbrella, and Excess, in accordance with Arch Insurance standards and sound underwriting practices. Establish and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers, policyholders, and industry groups, including through travel and client entertainment. Represent Arch in the regional marketplace by participating in industry events and initiatives to promote the brand and enhance the Business Unit's reputation. Operate independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment, focused on building a profitable book of business. Travel regularly to broker locations to strengthen producer relationships and drive business growth. Required Skills and Abilities Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 to 5 years of P&C production underwriting experience, with existing relationships in the wholesale E&S or retail primary marketplace. Compensation and Benefits Base salary range: $85,000 – $130,000 per year. Position is incentive eligible. Total compensation (base salary, short‑ and long‑term incentives) based on location, scope, responsibilities, qualifications, talent availability and specialization, and business needs.
