Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry night shift position requiring 2+ years of high-risk telemetry experience and active IL RN license.

Details

• Acute care Magnet hospital setting on a 40-bed Telemetry unit within a 222-bed facility
• Night shift schedule of 4x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Every other weekend required, approximately 6 weekend shifts within a 6 week schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to all inpatient units across both campuses
• EPIC charting system required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required, license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with strong cardiac background
• High-risk telemetry experience required
• Experience with cardiac drip management (no titration) required
• Sheath pull experience required
• Central line management experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with wound care and wound vac management
• Experience with pre/post cardiac surgery care
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Must be clean-shaven or have facial hair compatible with respirator fit testing

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive cardiac telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Manage central lines, cardiac drips, and perform sheath removals as part of daily responsibilities
• Navy scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Travelers may remain for an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service
• Previous permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
