divh2Chemical Plant Operator North Charleston Plant/h2pAs a Chemical Plant Operator at the North Charleston Plant you will have the opportunity to join a highly engaged team that takes pride in working safely and producing chemicals that are used to enhance the world around us such as emulsifiers, rosin, tall oil fatty acid (TOFA), and lignin. The North Charleston Plant started operation in 1948, and today employees approximately 200 team members./ppStarting wages for our hourly team members is $23.72 and increases to $25.35 after having completed a probationary period. This facility is an outdoor plant environment./ppHow you will impact Ingevity/pulliFollow Daily Operating Instructions/liliRecord relevant information in log sheets at end of the shift/liliKeep Shift Facilitator, Supervisor, and/or area Engineers up-to-date on issues/concerns./liliPerform Lock Out Tag Out as necessary/liliEnsure environmental permits are satisfied/liliKeep work area clean/li/ulpWhat you need to succeed/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent/liliTwo or more years of industrial manufacturing experience OR two years of equivalent college training/technical certification OR any direct experience working at an Ingevity chemical manufacturing facility in shipping or similar operations/liliDemonstrate math skills commensurate with the job requirements./liliStrong written and oral communication/liliAbility to use computer/liliAbility to think ahead and coordinate be proactive/liliAbility to manage situations under pressure/liliAbility to stand for prolong period of time, ability to bend, and lift up to 50lbs as needed/li/ulpThe hiring process requires all candidates successfully complete pre-employment screenings which include post offer drug testing, physical, functional capacity evaluation, and background check./ppThis position is not eligible for relocation assistance./ppThis role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
