Facilities Supervisor (FT), St. Thomas Aquinas, Bridgewater, MA The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for all operational requirements of the cemetery, and the maintenance of the parish facilities to include the main church, rectory, parish center, St Basil's Chapel and two cemeteries in Bridgetwater. The Facilities Supervisor performs and supervises tasks related to systems, security, environmental, safety, custodial and event coordination. This position will supervise staff and third party contractors as required to complete various facilities and maintenance related tasks and duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Facilities Management Supervises and performs all work related to the maintenance of parish buildings including but not limited to mechanical systems, painting and security of the parish. Develops, supervises and executes a maintenance/custodial schedule for all parish buildings to ensure that a clean and safe environment exists at all times for employees and parishioners. Maintains parish-owned equipment on parish grounds by closely monitoring equipment and completing necessary testing/ preventative maintenance as required. Also maintains accurate records of all maintenance repairs and performs repairs as needed. Oversees and provides event coordination. Supervises scheduling and ensures completion of set up and take down for meetings, events, worship, weddings, funerals, and other events as directed using schematic diagrams as available. Supervises and may assist teams of volunteers providing parish maintenance services such as cleaning, painting, snow removal and landscaping. Develops and maintains relationships with contractors and vendors working at the parish to ensure efficient facility operations. Directly supervises contractors and vendors to ensure they meet agreed upon contracts. Implements procedures for handling, storing, safekeeping, and destruction of hazardous materials. Supervises and conducts snow removal for all parish facilities as required. Reports any major concerns to management. Cemeteries Management Supervises all operational requirements of the cemetery to include maintenance of all grounds and the opening and closing of graves. Maintains accurate cemetery records Provide customer service and sales support for the cemetery NON- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience High School or equivalent preferred. Three-years of experience in facilities management and supervising others. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. CDL License a plus Organizational & Interpersonal Skills A high level of organizational and interpersonal skills are required. Attention to detail and demonstrated ability of working effectively with others is essential. Communication Skills Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; and to maintain confidentiality in all Parish matters. Technology Skills Demonstrated knowledge of facilities related equipment to include one-ton dump truck, front- end loader, excavator (Kubota), snow plows, snow blowers, zero-turn lawn mowers, tractor mower, walk-behind lawn mower, 3-yard commercial sander, leaf blower, weed whacker and chain saw. Knowledge of programmable thermostats. Reasoning Ability Ability to identify and define maintenance related problems, to collect and analyze related data and information, to establish facts, and to make sound recommendations and decisions. Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions Requires prolonged standing, walking and/or sitting, reach above shoulders and maintain balance May require physical exertion to manually, move, lift, carry, pull or push objects or materials up to 100 pounds May require occasional stooping, bending and reaching Must work in changeable temperatures Ability to rake, shovel and sweep and operate a variety of maintenance related equipment Must be able to work outside, sometimes in extreme weather conditions and exposed to stinging insects Will work in an office setting with office machines and records Will be supervising employees and volunteers Ability to read gauges and technical/blue print drawings Ability to dig graves, move headstones, place burial vaults in graves, set up bridge and elevator for funerals Working Environment Additional weekend and evening work hours may be required Additional Information Routine Activities completed by this role: Repair lights and fixtures. Perform maintenance tasks inclusive of: minor repairs to plumbing and fixtures, repair door hinges, clean plugged key slots, change filters on ventilating, heating and air conditioning units. Maintain emergency lighting, alarms, heat, and public lighting systems. Inspect roofs and clean drains, gutters and- downspouts. Clean and sanitize all bathrooms. Vacuum, sweep and mop all floors and stairs. Empty all trash barrels and replace liners. Clean window-sills and windows in all buildings as needed. Move and assist in transportation of furniture and equipment. Requisition Supplies Salary Range: $48,000 - $51,000 #J-18808-Ljbffr
