Per Diem Paraeducator – Yuba City, CA
Location: Yuba City, CA

Position Overview
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and adaptable Per Diem Paraeducators to provide instructional and behavioral support for students in a school setting. This flexible, as-needed role is ideal for professionals who enjoy making a meaningful difference while working in a variety of classroom environments.
As a valued member of the educational team, you will support teachers, staff, and students by helping create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Responsibilities
• Provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students in classroom settings
• Assist students individually or in small groups under the guidance of classroom educators
• Support students with daily routines, classroom transitions, and active participation in learning activities
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow student-specific plans, including Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Assist with student supervision, mobility support, and personal care needs when required
• Encourage student independence while promoting a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to meet student needs effectively
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to successfully complete a TB test in accordance with district requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally assist with lifting or physical support needs
• Willingness to complete and maintain required background clearances before beginning work
Preferred Experience
• Previous experience working in schools, special education, behavioral health, childcare, or related fields strongly preferred
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges is a plus
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, RBT practices, or similar behavior support approaches is beneficial but not required
• Reliable, patient, flexible, and committed to working collaboratively with a team
