Job Overview Senior Systems Engineer – MBSE Location options: Alexandria, VA; Aurora, CO; Las Cruces, NM. Salary range: 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD. Security clearances: Active, transferable TS/SCI CI Poly required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship required for eligibility. Responsibilities Leverage Cameo Systems/Architecture Modeler to create, analyze, and maintain detailed system models using SysML, UML, and related modeling languages to support system architecture development, design validation, and integration activities. Map and trace system requirements to corresponding functions, processes, and Concept of Operations (CONOPs), ensuring a clear flow from requirements to architecture and conducting impact analysis on performance. Maintain version control and apply configuration management processes to incoming model baseline changes, ensuring integrity and traceability. Validate and update legacy model captures to maintain consistency with evolving requirements and architecture. Establish and integrate Digital Engineering methods to advance the transition to MBSE, developing new processes that enhance enterprise‑wide systems engineering practices. Develop and use computer models to analyze and optimize the performance of complex systems, utilizing software and programming languages to simulate real‑world scenarios and predict behavior. Communicate effectively with program leadership, government stakeholders, SETA personnel, and other contractors to guide operational and engineering activities. Manage system integration projects and deliver reliable data that supports informed decisions regarding installations, modifications, and upgrades. Qualifications – Required Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of five years of engineering experience or equivalent. Experience applying Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles, including system modeling with Cameo or equivalent tools. Experience with Digital Engineering practices and toolchains to enhance design, integration, and test workflows. Experience with high‑level programming languages such as Python. Experience with project management. Experience collaborating with internal and external customers in a team environment (government, military, SETA, contractor). Active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship required. Qualifications – Preferred Experience with systems installation, integration, and test activities. Experience with additional programming languages (Python, C++, etc.). Experience with Request for Change (RFC) impact reviews and assessment processes. Experience with customer NSIS requirements and rapid delivery methods. Experience in customer relationships and stakeholder engagement. Experience working across contract and location boundaries. Experience with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, and collaborative engineering tools. Experience conveying complex technical issues through oral and written communication.
