Clinical Research Coordinator IIIThe Division of Dermatology in the Department of Medicine is seeking applicants for a Clinical Research Coordinator III to support the establishment and daily operations of a Dermatology clinical trial unit under the oversight of Dr. Daniel C. Butler. This position explores and discovers answers to challenging questions. The Clinical Research Coordinator III develops, facilitates, implements, evaluates, performs, administers and oversees a wide variety of research programs and initiatives within the division with new focus on immunological directed clinical studies. The University of Arizona has been recognized for our innovative work-life programs.Duties & Responsibilities:Lead the coordination and administration of multiple dermatology clinical trials, contracts, protocols and treatment plans, simultaneously.Work in conjunction with the Principal Investigator to design and develop clinical trial protocols.Independently prepare, coordinate, and maintain regulatory study documentation including IRB submission and approval of new or revised protocols, safety reports and progress reports.Participate in data management design and maintenance.Keep appropriate logs, track participants, and prepare study materials.Recruit and enroll study participants, interview and evaluate potential participants, obtain consents and explain research protocols to study participants.Develop and provide education materials and training to patients, family members, and clinical staff to assure patient safety and adherence to protocols.Coordinate and conduct study appointments and procedures, including obtain medical history and vitals, collection of specimens, administering medication; assess and monitor patient's health.Conduct adverse event assessment and provide recommendation to PI.Ensure proper collection, processing and handling of specimens.Develop source documents, Standard Operating Procedures, and study specific training.Coordinate and attend sponsor monitor visits.Plan and lead work of the two lower level Clinical Research Coordinators this position will be supervising.Manage team coordination, communication, training, and quality control.Order and maintain supplies and make day-to-day decisions in support of the studies.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of the broad industry best practices, techniques, and standards.Excellent record keeping and data entry skills.Knowledge of human subjects protection program requirements and regulations.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in dermatology clinical studies in a University setting.FLSA Exempt Full Time/Part Time Full Time Number of Hours Worked per Week 40 Job FTE 1.0 Work Calendar Fiscal Job Category Research Benefits Eligible Yes - Full Benefits Rate of Pay $59,404 - $74,254 Compensation Type salary at 1.0 full-time equivalency (FTE) Grade 8 Compensation Guidance The Rate of Pay Field represents the University of Arizona's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
