About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 18 months recent critical care/ICU experience required. License: Must have a permanent state license or compact state license in hand. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred. Must-Have: Must float to all ICUs and EDs for holds. Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Night shift with three 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. Candidates must possess a minimum of 18 months of recent critical care or ICU experience. Applicants must hold a permanent state license or a compact state license at the time of submission. Active certifications in BLS and ACLS are required, with NIHSS being preferred. Nurses will be required to float to all ICUs and EDs as necessary. One recent reference from a manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for is required for qualification. References must be from assignments worked in the last 12 months. All required certifications must be current and in hand at the time of submission. Candidates must successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessments during orientation. Candidates will be given two attempts to pass both assessments; failure to do so may result in cancellation. Background checks will be conducted, and candidates with any open cases will not be accepted. Compliance with nicotine-free requirements is necessary for all candidates, except those in certain roles. A negative 10-panel drug screen, including nicotine, is required within 12 months of start date and must be updated annually. Candidates should be aware of the importance of timely completion of any required documentation and processes. Travel candidates are expected to fulfill continuing education and competency requirements as specified.
