Party & Event Host

Store - DET-MT. CLEMENS, MI Event Coordination Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children’s birthday parties, craft classes, and other in‑store events. Engage with clients of all ages, creating an environment of fun and creativity. Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, including face painting and other activities. Facilitate and implement party add‑ons such as goody bags, balloons, and other company‑standard items. Communicate event details with clients and store team members. Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork. Adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs. Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed. Uphold client satisfaction for scheduled events. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards: set up, break down, and clean before and after each event. Customer Experience Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions. Provide fast and friendly checkout experience. Engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments. Educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey. Assist with omni‑channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POG) processes. Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance. Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned. Support shrink‑and‑safety programs. Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements. Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner, remaining positive even in difficult situations. Cross‑train in custom framing selling and production. Participate in daily store cleanliness activities, such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining restrooms. Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Energetic, enthusiastic personality. Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests of all ages and coworkers. Excellent people skills. Experience working with children and children’s events. Strong communication skills—written, verbal, non‑verbal—as well as listening skills. Organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem‑solving skills. Retail and/or customer service experience required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to move throughout the store. Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching. Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment. Frames shop contains glass cutter and heat press; work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings. Work Environment Regular interaction with the public in a retail setting. Potential exposure to tools and equipment such as ladders, glass cutters, and heat presses. Compliance with company safety protocols and equipment usage guidelines.
