Protective Security Officer

Armed Guard Force PositionIn accordance with DHS protocols, the armed guard force is responsible for all aspects of security operations supporting the command. This includes protecting personnel, property, facilities, and critical assets while maintaining strict entry control procedures. Officers ensure that unauthorized individuals, vehicles, vessels, and equipment are effectively deterred and denied access or exit.This role is ideal for armed security professionals, and those with prior military and law enforcement seeking to continue their service in a mission-critical environment. You will play a key role in safeguarding operations against threats such as theft, sabotage, civil disturbances, or other incidents that could disrupt continuity. Your experience, discipline, and situational awareness will directly contribute to maintaining a safe and secure facility.CompensationHourly Rate: $28.99/hrHealth and Welfare: $5.52/hrTraining Rate: $18.00/hrResponsibilitiesProvide armed security and access control servicesProtect government property, classified materials, and assigned personnelMonitor and control entry and exit points within secured areasRespond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and suspicious or unusual activityIdentify and address potential safety and security concerns proactivelyEnforce all security and safety rules and report violationsMaintain a thorough understanding of post orders and operational proceduresComplete accurate incident reports and required documentationExert significant physical force when necessary (heavy work requirements)Stand for extended periods, including 12-hour shiftsWork in both indoor and outdoor environments with frequent interruptionsSit, stand, and walk for long durations as required by assignmentOperate in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind)Work in high-noise and potentially hazardous environments, including proximity to firearms and machineryNavigate stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, and inclinesMaintain required physical and psychological standards per contractTravel may be requiredExtended hours may include nights, weekends, and holidaysPerform other duties as assigned.QualificationsU.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with honorable military serviceMinimum age of 21Possess a valid Social Security CardMinimum of two (2) years of armed security experience; ORMinimum of two (2) years of honorable service in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces OROne (1) year of law enforcement experience in a full?duty status with a full? service police department in a municipality, state, or federal law enforcement department within the US, and have resigned or retired in good standingDemonstrated proficiency with a handgun and ability to meet all firearms qualification standardsAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, including report writingFamiliarity with fixed-site security and access control operationsHigh School diploma or GED equivalentAbility to pass background investigation, drug screening, physical exam, and MRPT suitability requirementsStrong professionalism, discipline, and situational awarenessEqual Opportunity EmployerRace/Color/Sex/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Disability/Vet
