Position Overview The Tech 3, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and operational reliability of the instrumentation and controls that support facility-wide equipment and facility systems through effective Preventive and Corrective Maintenance and Calibration practices and know‑how. Job Description What You’ll Do Perform calibrations on instrumentation and controls, and site equipment and systems Plan and manage I&C, calibration, and repair activities for the entire site Perform routine I&C maintenance and repair of site equipment and machinery Participate in developing and implementing strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime Train and mentor technicians Maintain accurate I&C/calibration maintenance records and documentation Evaluate and recommend new equipment purchases and upgrades Participate in developing and maintaining maintenance budgets and schedules Assist management with budget forecast for maintenance and capital projects Follow standard procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) quality standards Provide input and recommendations for written instructions of preventive maintenance tasks and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Adhere to all safety requirements and follow safe work practices Notify management or Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) when unsafe conditions or hazards are found Attend all required safety and health training Support site operations and emergency work orders during off‑hours, as needed Perform spare parts assessments, as required Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge & Skills Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems Effective communication, both written and oral Ability to work in a team environment Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles Must be able to support 24/7 manufacturing facility, including shift, on‑call, and weekends Required Skills High School Diploma/GED 4‑6 years of I&C or similar experience Experience with tools and equipment used to perform maintenance work Preferred Skills Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering or a related field Prior maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or other regulated environment Prior experience working in a GMP environment Experience mentoring or providing oversight to technicians in a pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing setting Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Work may require respiratory protection, hearing protection, and may necessitate operating a motor vehicle, powered industrial truck, or pallet jack. Work may involve mechanical/production spaces. Activities may include using hearing, vision, and color discrimination. Tasks may require ascending or descending ladders, scaffolding, and ramps. Duties may include prolonged standing, sitting, repetitive motions, and operating machinery or power tools. Lifting or moving objects up to 33 pounds, with assistance for heavier loads. All tasks require basic physical fitness and hand‑eye coordination.
