Janitor

The Janitor will be responsible for cleaning and stocking designated building areas at multiple facilities, ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed.

Core functions include maintaining a safe, clean work environment, cleaning designated building areas including offices, break rooms, restrooms, common areas, supply rooms, and storage areas, stocking and maintaining supply rooms and areas, performing and documenting routine inspection and cleaning checklist, carrying out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects, notifying management of any defects, needed repairs, or supply requests, following all health and safety regulations, utilizing Lean manufacturing tools to deliver results, and performing other related and non-related duties as assigned through on-the-job training.

Qualifications and requirements include a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience, 6 months of previous janitorial experience preferred, no required licenses, willingness to work early morning or late night shifts, ability to work well under minimal supervision, capacity to take direction, strong attention to detail, physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds as necessary, occasional travel may be required, and competencies such as adapting to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, generating creative solutions, volunteering readily, displaying original thinking and creativity, identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness, observing safety and security procedures, and working well in group problem solving situations.

Physical requirements include exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects, and performing physical activities such as climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, crawling, and repetitive motions. Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, expansive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines, using measurement devices, and assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes. Working conditions include being subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production-based environment.
