Job Title: Phlebotomist

Shift: Night Shift
Schedule: 7 Shifts On / 8 Shifts Off
Shift Hours: Scheduled between 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Holiday Requirement: Yes
On-Call: No
EMR System: Meditech

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist for a travel assignment in Mauston, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will join a fast-paced laboratory team providing inpatient and outpatient specimen collection services while ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and excellent patient care.

This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong specimen collection and laboratory support experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture blood draws, heel sticks, and finger sticks

• Verify patient identification and confirm laboratory orders before specimen collection

• Process pathology, cytology, bone marrow biopsy, and fine needle aspirate specimens

• Prepare and send specimens according to laboratory standards and protocols

• Review and input patient demographics and pathology information accurately

• Maintain accurate documentation and input histology charges as required

• Perform drug screenings and breathalyzer testing

• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and infection control standards

• Communicate effectively with physicians, laboratory staff, and patients

• Assist with maintaining updated laboratory procedures and protocols

• Perform additional laboratory support duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Current BLS Certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire

• Strong phlebotomy and specimen collection skills

• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and specimen handling protocols

• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy or laboratory experience preferred

• Valid Driver’s License preferred

• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred

• Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills
