IT Project Manager

Job Summary:

The VDH Project Manager 1 is an entry-level IT project management role within the VDH Office of Information Management (OIM). This position supports the IT Portfolio Office by maintaining project data, preparing reports and dashboards, coordinating meetings, and ensuring accurate project documentation to aid leadership in making informed decisions. Responsibilities:

• Collect, consolidate, and validate project and portfolio data from multiple sources.
• Prepare weekly and monthly portfolio reports and executive dashboards.
• Monitor project financials including budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures.
• Coordinate project governance meetings and track follow-up action items.
• Support portfolio planning, intake, and prioritization activities.
• Perform data validation and maintain information within the ServiceNow portfolio management tool.
• Analyze data and develop summary views to communicate portfolio performance and key metrics.
• Create dashboards and visualizations for reporting portfolio status.
• Assist with month-end and quarterly reporting activities.
• Prepare reporting materials for portfolio governance and leadership meetings.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and data quality.
• Maintain reporting documentation, report definitions, and standard operating procedures.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Associates or bachelor's degree in business, information technology, management, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with ServiceNow and GitLab.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule is in-person only at the Richmond, VA location.
• Contract period from August 31, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
