Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Job Summary Direct Support Professionals (DSP) assist clients with all the activities of daily living, personal care, and program implementation. They are responsible for the day‑to‑day well‑being and safety of the clients while ensuring adequate supervision and maintaining household maintenance and housekeeping duties. Mount Olivet Rolling Acres (MORA) is a diverse and inclusive nonprofit that has supported adults, seniors, and children with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, age‑related and chronic medical conditions for over 50 years in the Twin Cities metro. MORA provides an array of services including Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and a Discover Summer Daytime Program for Youth with Disabilities. Schedule Week 1: Sun 10am‑8pm, Wed 3pm‑8pm, Thurs 3pm‑8pm, Fri 3pm‑8pm Week 2: Wed 3pm‑8pm, Thurs 3pm‑8pm, Fri 3pm‑8pm, Sat 10am‑8pm Hourly Pay Rate $18.00 per hour Weekend differential +$2.00 per hour for hours between Fri 10pm and Sun 10pm Overnight differential +$1.00 per hour for hours between 10pm and 6am ($12.13 per hour for sleep hours only when assigned) Retention Bonus $1,500 for full‑time staff, $750 for part‑time staff. Paid out over 1 year. Essential Job Functions and Key Duties Assists clients with daily physical care, medical needs, and supports for ADLs and mental health. Supports a daily routine that includes hygiene, domestic tasks, leisure, grooming, socializing, budgeting, safety, and community participation. Plans and implements recreation, leisure, and community activities. Drives to and accompanies clients at appointments and community activities using a company vehicle. Assists clients in establishing and maintaining community relationships and friendships. Applies person‑centered care based on the Coordinated Service and Support Plan (CSSP) and related documents. Maintains knowledge of clients’ histories, skills, vulnerabilities, habilitation plans, and emergency procedures. Participates in support team processes, including goal development and implementation. Administers and documents medication, treatments, diets, and exams per CSSP directives. Maintains confidentiality following HIPAA and MORA policies. Prepares meals per planned menus and handles weekly food ordering. Assists with housekeeping and household maintenance. Completes house‑quality improvement assessments and addresses issues. Provides adequate supervision, remaining on shift until a replacement arrives. Works collaboratively and respectfully with all individuals. Communicates effectively with peers in writing and verbally, using the primary language of clients. Completes mandatory training and follows company policies and regulations. Remains awake at all times unless assigned to a sleep shift. Documents program data and log information accurately and timely. Collaborates with the team on additional duties as needed. Desired Qualifications At least 1 year of experience working with clients who have intellectual or developmental disabilities. Interest in supporting clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs. Required Qualifications Must pass the Department of Human Services background check and maintain qualified status. Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General. Must be able to successfully complete the company’s physical job demands document. Must have a valid current driver’s license and vehicle insurance required by state law. Must complete the Medication Administration class with a score of 80% or greater and be able to administer medications correctly.
