Travel Youth Care Worker (ICE Transport)

Job Summary The Child & Family Protection Specialist (CFPCS) provides secure and humane treatment and service to Unaccompanied Children (UAC) and/or families, while accompanying them on domestic or international flights and/or via ground transportation to facilities across the country. During these trips the CFPCS uses language skills to communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive manner, fosters a safe and comfortable environment, and follows Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with contract requirements. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Ensure safe and secure transportation of unaccompanied minors and/or families in a humane manner, according to MVM’s policies and Standard Operating Procedures. Pick up UACs and families at various location points and transport them to final destinations efficiently and safely. Provide orientation to all minors and/or families in a language they understand, explaining the transportation process and answering questions. Maintain current training and certification requirements in accordance with state and ICE/ERO standards. Review all documentation to ensure it contains all required travel information and complete the property and tag process accurately. De‑escalate situations with uncooperative individuals and enforce safety and security protocols. Supply approved clothing, hygiene supplies, meals, snacks, water, and drinks for the assignment duration. Complete vehicle safety and security inspections and comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. Ensure all passengers wear seatbelts and that car seats/booster seats are properly installed for minors. Maintain line‑of‑sight and sound supervision of each minor and/or family throughout transport. Log transportation details, including medication, meals, communication, delays, and other milestones, in MVM’s proprietary system. Report to the Command Center/Shared Services and Site at established check‑points regarding changes, disruptions, or concerns. Record medication administration for minors and report any irregularities. Handle emergency situations following company SOP and processes, and conduct headcounts at all stops. Perform program‑specific duties involving the use of force and restraints as per SOP guidelines, including pat‑down searches. Provide coaching and mentorship to newly hired staff on company policies, procedures, and best practices. Support out‑of‑state and Temporary Duty (TDY) assignments, traveling on short notice both domestically and internationally via air and/or ground transport as required. Stand or walk on various surfaces for extended periods, frequently lift or carry luggage or items up to 40 lbs, and drive a 15‑passenger van or commercial motor vehicle. Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and graveyard shifts, to support a 24/7 operation. Minimum Qualifications & Skills Associate degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college, or a high school diploma with at least two years of relevant experience. At least two years of documented experience in law, social work, detention, corrections, or a similar occupational area; a minimum of three years is required when substituting a high school diploma. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing). Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with employees and customers. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), tablets, and smartphone technology. Valid, current driver’s license with a safe driving record and ability to meet insurance requirements for vehicle rentals. Ability to pass a Government Security Background Investigation, have a favorable credit check, no criminal record, and no prior drug use. Availability for domestic and international travel, and to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and graveyard shifts. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Exam Certification. Proficiency in inventory and surveillance software is preferred. Work Schedule This position is mission critical and requires availability for a minimum of four consecutive days per week, including night, graveyard shifts, weekends, and holidays, to support a 24/7/365 operation. Security Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet Security Clearance requirements, favorable credit checks, and drug screening. • Sitting: prolonged and extended periods may be required.
