Specialty ICU – Intensive Care Unit RN Start Date: 07/20/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week 12‑hour night shifts Travel assignment Required Qualifications One year recent experience as an ICU RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications Preferred Qualifications Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification TNCC, NIHSS certification Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position Summary The ICU Registered Nurse provides comprehensive critical care to patients in the intensive care unit, including assessment, monitoring, life‑support operation, medication administration, team collaboration, and commitment to patient safety and professional ethics. Essential Work Functions Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to subtle changes in patient condition Administer complex medications and treatments in accordance with approved critical care nursing techniques Operate and manage advanced life support equipment Ensure patient safety and comfort, addressing physical and emotional needs Record significant conditions, reactions, and interventions, notifying the appropriate provider of changes in patient status Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring, including arterial lines, central venous pressure, and pulmonary artery catheters Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in a timely manner Provide education to patients and families regarding the ICU environment, treatments, and recovery expectations Communicate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care Maintain proficiency in critical care procedures and technologies through ongoing education and training Adhere to strict infection control protocols to protect immunocompromised patients and reduce risks Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance ICU patient outcomes and operational efficiency Perform other duties as assigned within scope Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills English language proficiency Ability to read written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and PC skills Physical: maintain stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend Interpersonal: work effectively with varied personnel with professionalism Technical/motor: grasp, perform fine manipulation, assist with procedures, handle equipment Mental: cope with frequent contact with public, meet deadlines under pressure, work with minimal supervision Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication Benefits Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, vision insurance from first day Paid time off after 1560 hours Life and short‑term disability 401(k) matching Aggressive refer‑a‑friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs Other Duties Disclaimer To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
