SSHE Lead III (Saint Paul)

Safety, Security, Health & Environmental (SSHE) Lead III Location: Kearl Lake, AB Schedule: 14 days / 14 days off FIFO Type: Contract Rate: $95 per hour Brunel is seeking an experienced SSHE Lead III to support a major Oil & Gas project at the Kearl site. This role is ideal for a seasoned SSHE professional who thrives in dynamic, multicultural environments and can provide strong leadership, oversight, and technical expertise. Responsibilities Ensure full understanding of and compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements Report all SSHE incidents promptly and accurately Conduct Workplace Safety Observations and promote a proactive safety culture Support and enforce Client SSHE requirements across the site Ensure compliance with Emergency Preparedness and Response procedures Verify adherence to PPE requirements and site safety standards Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to SSHE personnel Review and endorse SSHE deliverables, ensuring quality and alignment with project objectives Identify staffing needs and support career development of reporting personnel Provide stewardship, analysis, and strategic support to drive SSHE performance Interface effectively with internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required Experience working in multicultural or multilingual environments, preferably in emerging nations Prior safety‑related experience, including Oil & Gas exposure Solid behavioral competencies: courage of conviction, sound decision‑making, risk management, strategic thinking Demonstrated excellence in project SSHE performance Extensive knowledge of safety, security, health, and environmental processes and standards Proficiency in emergency preparedness, incident investigation, risk assessment, OIMS execution, regulatory compliance, and environmental planning Strong understanding of security processes and procedures Advanced computer skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal) Proven ability to work independently, set priorities, and operate within established company processes Demonstrated ability to build effective internal and external working relationships No training provided beyond company‑specific safety standards—candidates must be fully competent upon arrival #J-18808-Ljbffr Brunel
