Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Travel Contract)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Cardiac Telemetry unit serving an adult to geriatric population, including overflow IMCU patients
• Manage and monitor continuous IV cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin, as well as diuretics, anticoagulants, and insulin drips
• Perform arrhythmia monitoring and management, including stable A-Fib, SVT, and Bradycardia, and assist with cardioversion as needed
• Care for patients presenting with CHF, chest pain, renal conditions, pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema), PE, DVT, DKA, and post-cardiac cath including TR Band management
• Support surgical patient care (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains) and occasional vascular, orthopedic, or CVA overflow patients
• Float within the facility within scope of practice as needed and adhere to a patient ratio of 1:5–6 on a 32-bed unit

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of Telemetry or Cardiac RN experience; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Demonstrated experience managing continuous IV cardiac medications (cardiac drips as listed above)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency with Med-Surg fundamentals including basic arrhythmia knowledge and TR Band management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic EMR, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
• Familiarity with IMCU-level patient care and overflow management across multiple specialties
• Experience with post-cardiac cath care and DKA management
