Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Summary:
Seeking experienced ICU registered nurses with open heart surgical post-op expertise for temporary 13- or 18-week contracts. The role involves providing specialized critical care for post-operative cardiac and trauma patients in a Level III trauma center.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for cardiac and critical care patients, including post-CABG, valve surgeries, Impella, and IABP support.
• Monitor and interpret EKG strips, ventilator settings, and other critical patient data to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Administer medications, including conscious sedation and IV therapies, adhering to hospital protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized patient care plans.
• Float to various units as needed, supporting high-risk ICU or COVID-positive patient care.
• Document patient progress accurately in Epic electronic health records.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Ohio RN license or equivalent state license/compact.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent ICU experience, with open heart post-op competency.
• Successfully pass an online EKG tele competency assessment prior to start.
• Exhibit current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA.
• Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting EKGs, ventilator management, and critical patient monitoring.
• Be flexible to work night shifts (4x12 hours) and available for every other weekend/holiday.
