Position Overview
A family in Hitchcock, TX is seeking a patient, encouraging, and dependable caregiver to support Jayden, an 18‐year‐old young man with developmental and physical disabilities. This role requires someone who genuinely enjoys working with individuals with special needs and can provide both daily care and guided mobility exercises to help him build independence in walking, standing, and sitting.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands‐on mobility assistance, including:
- Guided exercises to help him learn to walk, stand, and sit independently.
- Balance support and fall‐prevention.
- Safe physical prompting and steadying during movement.
- Offer consistent encouragement, celebrate accomplishments, and engage with the client’s excitement and interests.
- Assist with daily living needs, including hygiene, drooling management, and personal care, with patience and respect.
- Support meal preparation, feeding assistance, and hydration reminders.
- Maintain a positive, warm, and engaging attitude throughout the day.
- Follow established exercise routines and communicate progress or concerns to the family.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.
- Demonstrate emotional steadiness, reliability, and a willingness to learn the client’s unique needs.

Required Qualities
- Genuine compassion for individuals with special needs.
- Patience and emotional maturity, especially during challenging or repetitive tasks.
- Comfort with physical support, including lifting assistance, balance support, and guided mobility exercises.
- Respectful attitude toward all aspects of the Jayden’s condition (TBI), including drooling and mobility limitations.
- Positive energy—someone who smiles, encourages, sings, and celebrates progress.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to follow direction.
- Dependability—consistent attendance and reliability are essential.

Preferred Experience
- Prior caregiving, DSP, CNA, or special needs experience.
- Experience with mobility training, physical prompting, or basic therapeutic exercises.
- Familiarity with developmental delays and physical disabilities.
- Ability to follow simple exercise plans or routines.

Schedule & Compensation
- Part‐time
- Pay rate higher than caregivers because more is required.
- Stable, respectful, and supportive home environment.

We are a family of 3, me, my mom (92) and Jayden. We have 2 pets, a cat and a dog. Jayden has his own therapy/activity room. We have a 2 step interview process; a meet and greet and a 4 hours working test. Also, must clear a background check.
