As a vital member of our clinical team, you will play a crucial role in delivering personalized therapeutic support to individuals facing a variety of mental health challenges. Work Environment

This position is uniquely structured as a remote role, allowing you to conduct sessions from the comfort of your own environment while maintaining strong connections with staff and patients. The work schedule is primarily Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required to meet the needs of your patients. You'll have access to a wide array of digital tools and resources that support your therapeutic work, ensuring you can contribute effectively to each patient’s journey toward recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify patient needs and collaboratively develop customized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, employing modalities like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy during sessions with individuals and families.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational groups that help patients learn about their conditions and improve their coping strategies while providing mutual support.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other health professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Deliver crisis intervention services to patients experiencing acute mental health emergencies, ensuring immediate support and stabilization.
  • Educate patients about various mental health conditions, treatment modalities, and available community resources to empower their recovery journeys.
  • Maintain precise and confidential patient documentation, abiding by legal and ethical standards to protect patient information.
  • Engage in regular case consultations and clinical meetings with your team to optimize treatment plans and share best practices.
  • Stay informed of the latest research trends and advancements in mental health therapies to continually enhance your practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary patient population includes individuals struggling with mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the vibrant community of Hempstead. As a Mental Health Counselor at Biomedica, you will be instrumental in bridging gaps in care and providing accessible support to our patients in both individual and group settings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure in New York as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster strong therapeutic relationships with patients.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in an outpatient setting providing therapy.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed care practices and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Experience working in group therapy settings, facilitating discussions and leading psychoeducational programs.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, which reflects your qualifications and experience. In addition, we offer a robust benefits package that includes:
