Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) Position: Medical Support Specialist in a BioLife Plasma Center. Responsible for ensuring donor eligibility, safety, and compliance with SOPs. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, conduct medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review serological test results including SPE. Evaluate donor reactions, address medical emergencies per SOPs, coordinate donor transport to emergency care, and develop Center Physician standing orders. Consult with Center Physician or Medical Affairs on medical or technical findings, and ensure donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents, liaise with occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, investigating community pandemic threats per EHS/Medical Affairs. Qualifications High school diploma or nursing program graduate meeting state requirements. Current RN, NP, or PA licensure in the state of assignment. Current CPR and AED certification. State IV therapy competency. Completion of FDA‑approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training. Minimum of two years clinical or hospital experience.
