What You Will Do Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard non-isolated power conversion topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost) including modules and discrete designs. Guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation. Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule. Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience. Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in design, analysis, simulation, and/or test experience with linear converters. Experience with any of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost. Experience with design, analysis, and test with analog electronic design and analysis, including FET, BJT, and/or Op-amp circuits. Qualifications We Prefer Lab experience specific to power electronics and/or controls electronics. Demonstrated use of software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layout. Demonstrated ability to document designs and circuit performance verification. Understanding of fundamental power conversion concepts, components, and techniques. Demonstrated understanding of linear controls and motor drive techniques. Basic understanding of commonly used power converter and/or motor drive control schemes. Design, analysis, and/or test experience with isolated converter topologies: flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, and/or push-pull; design scope includes stability. Experience with circuit card assembly-level power architecture trades, and/or with system-level power architecture trades, including power converter specification development. Professional experience guiding ECAD personnel through PWB layout and technical drawing creation. Familiarity with circuit simulator SIMPLIS, Saber and/or Mathcad. Experience with Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, and/or Hyperlynx. Experience serving as a liaison between program and functional management. Experience with digital power control. Experience with military specifications. Experience with transformer and inductor design considerations. Design experience addressing EMI concerns. Design experience with voltages > 400V and/or power > 10kW. Experience with program management tools such as Earned Value. Experience with proposal development. Ability to design to meet concerns of adjacent disciplines (thermal, structural, mechanical, reliability, quality). Self-starter, functioning in dynamic environment. Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and time management skills. What We Offer This position is onsite in Huntsville, AL and is eligible for relocation assistance. The salary range for this role is$68,900 USD–$131,100 USD.
