Plant Utilities Systems Specialist (Boilers, Chillers, RO, WWTP)

Do you keep the backbone of production running?If you love solving tricky utility problems, balancing treatment chemistry, and coordinating maintenance without slowing production, this role is for you.Outcomes you will driveMinimal equipment downtime and strong energy/water efficiency.Safe, compliant operations across utilities and wastewater, within permit and equipment limits.Clear communication and seamless shift handoffs.What you'll work onOperate, monitor, and repair: steam boilers; glycol chillers; cooling towers; air compressors; nitrogen generation; CO2 recovery; multiple RO units; WWTP and aquifer injection wells.Interpret data from mechanical/electrical/chemical/biological systems; make control changes for reliable, cost-effective performance.Lead corrective actions during outages, repairs, breakdowns, large spills/dumps at the WWTP to sustain operations.Run lab tests and non-routine analyses for waste streams, boiler chemistry, well water quality, and filtration equipment.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance; troubleshoot effectively and apply root-cause problem solving.Document maintenance, parts usage, and observations; complete PMs/work orders before end of shift; provide thorough pass-down notes.Use the CMMS to locate parts; report inventory consumption accurately; make efficient use of tools and equipment.Coordinate with Brewing and other departments to schedule work with minimal production impact.Share expertise with peers; co-author and refine SOPs.Support continuous improvement projects, facility/equipment upgrades, and permanent fixes for repeat issues.Other related tasks as needed.Safety and food safety firstFollow all plant safety rules and GMPs; wear PPE (bump cap, safety steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, dust masks or PAPRs) as required.Confirm equipment aligns with safety standards and regulations.Your backgroundHigh school diploma or equivalent.1–3 years with chillers/boilers, CO2 recovery, or RO systems; or 1–3 years of lab/operations in aerobic/anaerobic WWTPs (industrial preferred).Understanding of sludge processing/handling; chemistry and microbiology; analytical laboratory instrumentation.Knowledge spanning math, mechanics, chemistry, biology, microbiology, electrical systems, control systems, maintenance, and safety protocols.Experience with WWTP unit processes: pumps and stations, control systems, screening, grit removal, clarification, pH/nutrient control via chemical additions, sludge press, anaerobic pretreatment.Ability to safely handle hazardous chemicals; proficiency with pumps, motors, compressors, boilers, valves, PRVs, and SCADA.Fluent in MS Office (Excel, Word, email) and CMMS; strong written and verbal communication.How you workSteady under pressure; values-driven; willing to jump in wherever needed.Dependable and punctual; adheres to attendance standards.Organized multitasker who prioritizes effectively in a dynamic environment.Positive, solutions-oriented; receptive to feedback.Team-focused collaborator who adapts style to audience; accountable for results.Schedule and working conditions2-2-3 rotation; 12-hour shifts in a two-week cycle.Shifts include weekends and holidays; overtime as directed by management.Industrial environment with potential high noise, chemical exposure, and physical obstacles; occasional outdoor tasks in varying weather; possible temperature extremes.Physical requirements: lift up to 50 lbs; stand/move 8–12 hours; climb stairs/ladders; fine motor dexterity; sustained endurance for long tasks.Core proficienciesMechanical Troubleshooting SkillsElectrical TroubleshootingHVAC TroubleshootingBoiler CertificationBoiler OperationMaintenance and Repair SkillsIndustrial Electrical ExperienceMachine Safety InspectionsThis position has been identified as a safety sensitive position within the state of Arizona. #J-18808-Ljbffr Torrey Holistics
