Director, Electronics Engineering

About the Role Ensign‑Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is seeking a Director of Electronics Engineering. The role will lead the electronics engineering team, drive the strategy for the electronics business, and develop a problem‑solving culture as the company expands. Core Competencies for Success Engineering Process Excellence: Apply rigorous engineering processes, tools, and standards to ensure high‑quality outcomes across all phases of product development. Data‑Driven Performance Management: Establish and track meaningful KPIs, conduct root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective actions. Culture & Engagement: Champion a culture of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Organizational Effectiveness: Support design, change management, and workforce planning for agility and scalability. Strategic Business Alignment: Collaborate with leaders in business development, sales, and customer engagement to align engineering capacity with customer needs. Technical & Industry Expertise: Bring extensive experience in electronics design and development, especially in high‑mix, low‑volume environments, and understand aerospace and defense product lifecycles. Candidate We Are Looking For BS/MS in electronics, electrical, computer engineering, physics, or related field. Minimum 15 years of project, design, or related electronics engineering experience. Proven experience leading complex electronic products through all stages of product development and into production. Experience in a high‑mix, low‑volume electronics development and manufacturing environment. Experience in managing, training, mentoring, and coaching leaders. Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or technology industries preferred. Proven ability to lead through change and influence cross‑functional teams. Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and relationship‑building skills. Passion for people, innovation, and continuous improvement. Compensation and Rewards Base Salary: $175k – $225k plus annual bonus. Executive relocation support and potential sign‑on incentives based on experience.
