Staff Accountant — GAAP, GL & Financial Close Expert

General Purpose of the Position:This position will assist with a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks/functions. Various software programs will be used to process business transactions such as inter-company invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month end close, credit card processing, and employee expense reporting. This successful candidate must have strong attention to detail and experience in solving complex tasks.Primary Responsibilities:Assist with Financial Statement Preparation (complete by 7th)Ensure adherence to company policies and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliationsEnsure books and financial reports are completed timely per scheduleProperty Tax renditionsReconcile and split LOC and/or equip loansSales TaxRegister and file monthly reports, ensuring accounts have sufficient cash flow.Provide estimates of sales tax, record in QBMonitor and verify accuracy of QB sales tax invoices and reports, eliminating any discrepancies foundEnsures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.Registering or dissolving subcos for new states as neededAccounts Payable & Accounts Receivable SupportReview AP coding and vendor setupAssist with payment processing oversightMonitor AR aging and follow up on outstanding balancesBank Transactions:Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifying deposits, and addressing inquiries from banks.Daily checks on multiple accounts to ensure books match the corresponding bank accountsCredit card imports and Reconciliation with expense approval systemSupport budgeting and forecasting activities, providing necessary data and analysisMaintain accurate records for fixed assets and depreciationQualifications:Minimum 2-5 years of accounting experience.Associate or bachelors degree in the field of Accounting or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:Strong functional capabilities with Excel and QuickbooksAbility to work in a fast-paced and fluid environmentStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong personal motivation with the ability to work with little supervision and attention to detail while working in a deadline-driven environmentAbility to communicate clearly and concisely across multiple levels within the companyWorks directly with or develops confidential information, which requires regular use of discretion.Comprehensive Benefit Package that includes:Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife InsurancePaid Time Off401 (k)Health Savings AccountEmployee Assistance Program #J-18808-Ljbffr HARBORFAB
