Key facts Location: Rancho Cordova, California Engagement: Full-time Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with experience Visa: Sponsorship available for qualified candidates What you'll do Conduct comprehensive environmental assessments to evaluate the impact of proposed projects on local ecosystems and communities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement environmental management plans that adhere to state and federal regulations. Analyze environmental data and prepare detailed reports that summarize findings, conclusions, and recommendations for stakeholders. Monitor and assess environmental conditions through fieldwork, including soil, water, and air quality sampling and analysis. Engage with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental laws and guidelines, facilitating necessary permits and approvals. Provide technical guidance and support to project managers and engineers on environmental issues related to construction and development. Develop and deliver presentations to clients, stakeholders, and community members to communicate environmental findings and promote sustainable practices. Stay informed about emerging environmental issues, technologies, and regulations to ensure that Wilsonconst remains at the forefront of the industry. Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and funding applications to support environmental initiatives and research projects. Participate in community outreach efforts to raise awareness about environmental sustainability and engage local stakeholders in conservation efforts. Conduct training sessions for staff and clients on environmental best practices and compliance requirements. Collaborate with academic institutions and research organizations to advance environmental science knowledge and practices. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental consulting, research, or a related role. Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, including NEPA, CEQA, and other relevant federal and state laws. Proficiency in environmental assessment methodologies and data analysis techniques. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in GIS software and other environmental modeling tools is highly desirable. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for fieldwork as needed. Nice to have Experience with ecological restoration projects and habitat conservation efforts. Familiarity with sustainable development practices and green building certifications (e.g., LEED). Knowledge of statistical software for data analysis and interpretation. Certification as a Professional Environmental Scientist (PES) or similar credentials. Experience in community engagement and public outreach related to environmental issues.
