Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Psychiatry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1+ years License: Current RN License in the state of Missouri Certifications: BLS from AHA only Must-Have Skills/Experience: 1+ years of experience with Behavioral Health/Psychiatric nursing Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the organization’s mission, values, and service standards. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice and the Nurse Practice Act. Meets unit-specific physical demands, including significant bending, stooping, and lifting with assistance. May be required to work differing schedules, shifts, and days according to patient care requirements. High risk exposure to blood and body fluids. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care and coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the organization’s mission, values, and service standards. This position involves working with adult and geriatric patients with medical comorbidities.
