Patient Care Technician

Location: Middle Township, NJ

Type: Contract

The Patient Care Technician plays a vital role in supporting the nursing team by delivering direct and indirect patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
• Obtain and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, oxygen saturation)
• Support patient mobility, including transferring, repositioning, and ambulation
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests
• Assist with specimen collection (urine, stool) and basic point-of-care testing as directed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing staff
• Ensure patient rooms are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient transport within the facility
• Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality protocols at all times

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, or equivalent healthcare training program preferred
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A)
• Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
