Phlebotomist – We Train We look for a patient, reliable person who welcomes donors and ensures their comfort and safety. The ideal phlebotomist is a self‑starter and committed to keeping donors comfortable and satisfied. Qualifications: High School diploma or GED Superior customer service standards Flexibility to work a flexible schedule Interest in making a difference in the world Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable Primary Responsibilities: Assist in determining the suitability of donors. Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality. Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions. Monitor donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product. Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines. Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment. Occupational Demands: Work is performed in a plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms; exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment; exposure to extreme cold below 32 °F while working in a plasma freezer. Personal protective equipment (protective eyewear, garments, gloves, cold‑gear) required. Work is performed standing for 6‑8 hours per day; bending and twisting the neck and waist for 1‑2 hours per day; frequent hand movements; ability to make fast, simple, precise coordinated movements; frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch or sit on heels; may walk up to 6‑8 hours per day; light lifting of 15 lbs. with a maximum lift of 50 lbs; may reach below shoulder height. Hearing acuity essential. Color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and to perform within the guidance of oral or written instructions.
