AVP, Actuarial & Analytics - Actuarial Product CMP

Opportunity We are seeking a leadership role in Business Insurance Actuarial Product CMP. The position leads a team of eight, overseeing CMP line management, rate implementation, post monitoring, data modernization, cross‑Auto & CMP line capabilities, and the development of BOP 2.0 using new rating technology. Reporting to the VP of the Actuarial Product Auto and CMP teams, the role partners with Small Commercial Product Management, Data Science, Small Commercial Actuarial, Regulatory, Select Underwriting, Data & Analytics Value Stream and implementation partners. Compensation Annual base salary range: $169,400.00 – $279,600.00 (determined by scope, complexity, location and qualifications) Performance‑based cash incentive awards are available. Responsibilities Strategy Assess, prioritize, influence, and communicate strategic initiative options to senior leaders. Foster execution of assigned strategic initiatives and projects. Lead cross‑unit initiatives and participate in enterprise initiatives. Operational Perform and lead actuarial and analytic analyses to solve business problems. Drive day‑to‑day execution within the unit and across department initiatives. Promote efficiency and identify resource needs, balancing effort against incremental lift. Make independent decisions in accordance with segment practices. Provide direction and review others’ analytical work and translate ambiguous business needs into analytic solutions. Support initiatives across the enterprise within the scope of influence. Communication Communicate regularly with staff, peers, business partners and senior leaders. Tailor analysis, project results, and business initiatives to the audience. Explain technical topics to non‑technical audiences and influence peers and partners. Create formal written communication such as memos and presentations. Talent Directly manage a team of managers and individual contributors. Drive acquisition, retention and development of talent within the assigned unit. Communicate and influence standards for talent development processes, including performance and personal development goals. Plan succession and make talent assessment recommendations. Manage workforce planning and support staff engagement in enterprise initiatives. Mentor less experienced talent and identify training and skill development needs. Support recruiting efforts and candidate talent assessment across the enterprise. Qualifications College degree in a STEM related field. Associate Actuarial Credential. Leadership experience. At least 10 years of quantitative analysis experience. Strong understanding of insurance products and industry. Demonstrated skills in actuarial, quantitative analysis and statistical concepts. Exceptional influencing and consulting skills; ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders. Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex information to senior leadership and non‑technical teams. Strong PC skills (MS Office). Must Have Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. 7 years of comprehensive quantitative analysis experience. Project or people management experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr Travelers Canada
