Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Medical Billing Team Lead role based in Linden, NJ. The Medical Billing Team Lead oversees the daily billing operations, including claim generation, submission, follow-up, and payment posting for laboratory services. This role coordinates and supports a team of medical billing specialists, assigns workloads, monitors productivity, and provides guidance on complex billing issues. The position is responsible for reviewing accounts receivable, resolving denials and rejections, ensuring billing accuracy, and maintaining compliance with payer rules and regulatory requirements. The Medical Billing Team Lead collaborates with internal departments and external payers, prepares routine billing reports, and recommends process improvements to enhance efficiency and revenue cycle performance.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Billing Process and Invoicing, including claim creation, submission, and follow-up through the full revenue cycle.
• Hands-on experience with Billing Systems and related practice management or laboratory information systems.
• Strong Analytical Skills to interpret billing data, identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and improve processes.
• Effective Communication skills for collaborating with team members, other departments, and external payers.
• Previous experience in medical billing, preferably in a laboratory or healthcare setting, including familiarity with insurance guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to train, mentor, and evaluate team members.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical billing, coding, or healthcare administration is a plus.
