Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position in a high-acuity setting within an acute care hospital. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care for a diverse patient population across various service lines, excluding cardiovascular services. The position requires advanced technical skills, adherence to surgical protocols, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts during days, weekends on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois nursing license or active application process, BLS certification, minimum 3 years‘ operating room nursing experience, level I trauma experience, active IL license, and proficiency with Cerner charting system.
• Certifications: BLS required; CNOR certification preferred.
• Experience: General OR and trauma experience required, including bariatric, general, neurology, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, and urology case skills, as well as emergency management and equipment handling.
• On-Call: One shift per week on-call required, with no frequent on-call fluctuations expected.
• Additional Information: Candidate must be able to work within scope to meet facility needs, including working with all service lines except cardiovascular. Must have at least 50 miles of residence from the facility. Prior trauma level I experience is necessary, along with specific experience in laparoscopic, microsurgical, and complex case procedures. Familiarity with infection control, blood product administration, and radiation safety is essential.
• Start Date: 11/30/2026, with an end date of 03/01/2027.
• Other Requirements: Complete all orientation modules prior to start; credential verification and background checks must be disclosed accordingly. Floating may be required within scope, and candidates must demonstrate readiness to meet compliance and documentation requirements in a timely manner.
