Department Summary The UCLA Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Equity and the Center for Cancer Prevention and Control Research (CPCR) are co-located within the Center for Health Sciences (CHS) building on the UCLA campus. The UCLA Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Equity was established in 2004 to address disparities in health status and health care in the United States. The Center conducts community-partnered intervention research in health promotion and disease prevention to mitigate disparities. The CPCR is a joint program of the Fielding School of Public Health and the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and leads efforts in population-based cancer prevention and control research. In addition to conducting research, both Centers have a strong focus on community outreach and engagement including conducting education and capacity building activities particularly in Los Angeles and surrounding counties Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team at the UCLA Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Equity (Equity Center) and UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (JCCC) to serve as the Community Programs Manager. Our diverse, multidisciplinary team includes faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, community experts, full-time staff, and students work collaboratively to address health inequities through community-engaged research and action. The Community Programs Manager will play a key role in strengthening partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders across Los Angeles County, coordinating community-based field research activities, and building community capacity to address health disparities, reporting to Center leadership. Responsibilities include identifying and engaging community partners; conducting stakeholder interviews and community consultations to assess local priorities, needs and assets; developing and coordinating community training and capacity-building activities; developing and disseminating culturally responsive educational and outreach materials; and contributing to the design, implementation, and evaluation of community-partnered health disparities research projects. The position will also support the collection and synthesis of information from community settings to assess current outreach and research efforts, identify unmet needs, and help guide future program and research directions. Regular travel to community sites throughout Los Angeles County is required to facilitate relationship-building, field research activities and support, and ongoing engagement with community stakeholders. Through this work, the Community Programs Manager will help ensure that the work of both Centers is grounded in community perspectives and responsive to the health priorities of vulnerable and historically underserved populations in Los Angeles and surrounding counties. Qualifications 2+ years Experience conducting community outreach, stakeholder engagement and partnership development in underserved and ethnic minority communities (Required) 2+ years Experience facilitating meetings, trainings, workshops, and community forums with diverse audiences. (Required) 2+ years Experience providing technical support to agencies in the greater Los Angeles region, including community-based organizations and safety net health care providers (Required) 2+ years Experience working in or with diverse organizations in Los Angeles County and knowledge of resources and needs of multiple neighborhoods within Los Angeles County (Required) 1+ years Experience in project management, including planning, implementation, timeline development, and monitoring of complex initiatives. (Required)

1. years Research experience, including knowledge of research methods and terminology, data collection, human subjects research protections and IRB requirements. (Required)

1+ years Experience supervising students and staff (Required) Knowledge of heath equity, social determinants of health, and factors contributing to health disparities among diverse populations. (Required) Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with researchers, staff, students, and diverse community members. (Required) Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across research, clinical, and community settings. (Required) Demonstrated writing and proofreading skills to compose and edit correspondence, reports, proposals and other materials for distribution to diverse audiences. (Required) Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with sound judgement and initiative. (Required) Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting established deadlines. (Required) Demonstrated ability to use online research resources, virtual engagement platforms, and digital communication tools to facilitate community-engaged research.
