Retail Technology Quality Analyst Our client is looking for a Retail Technology Quality Analyst who lives and breathes retail and is excited to bring that passion into the world of AI‑driven software testing. In this role, you'll work hands‑on in our retail lab and in‑store environments, simulating real‑world customer and associate experiences to validate the software that powers our global retail operations. Prior software testing experience is helpful but not required; strong retail domain knowledge, curiosity, and a quality mindset are more important. If you're energized by omni‑channel retail, emerging tech, and AI, and want to help shape the future of in‑store experiences, this is your opportunity. Key Responsibilities Simulate real‑world retail environments in our retail lab and conduct in‑person testing at stores to validate software used by store associates. Test omni‑channel and retail operations workflows such as BOPIS, BORIS, Endless Aisle, Membership, Store Fulfillment, inventory adjustments, order exceptions, returns, and ERP‑connected processes. Test associate‑facing applications on iPads, including interactions with payment terminals, checkout pinpads, and other connected peripherals. Collaborate with Quality Engineers on eCommerce and retail teams to execute end‑to‑end testing that spans from in‑store systems to ERP and fulfillment platforms. Use AI tools to accelerate test design, exploratory testing, defect analysis, documentation, and test reporting. Learn and apply modern test automation tools and scripting languages to support test execution and reporting. Configure and troubleshoot retail hardware setups including POS terminals, scanners, printers, mobile devices, and payment systems. Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to quality discussions within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment. Act as a retail subject matter expert, bringing frontline and back‑office retail operations insights into the testing process to ensure software meets the needs of store associates, retail operations teams, inventory and fulfillment teams, finance and reconciliation teams, and customers. Additional Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of experience working in a retail store environment, preferably in a role involving technology, operations, or omni‑channel workflows. Familiarity with retail back‑office processes such as inventory management, receiving, transfers, fulfillment, reconciliation, or exception handling. Ability to think like an end user, identify edge cases, document defects clearly, and communicate risk to technical and non‑technical partners. Technically curious and comfortable working with retail hardware, mobile devices, and connected peripherals. Basic scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or shell scripting); VBScript experience is a plus. Passion for AI and emerging retail technologies, with a desire to learn and apply AI tools to testing and quality assurance. Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially when working with cross‑functional teams. Experience using or testing iPad‑based retail applications and payment hardware is highly desirable. Bonus: Exposure to robotic arm testing or automation hardware used in retail or logistics environments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Lawrence, MA.
