Psych Adult Registered Nurse

This position is for a Psych Adult Registered Nurse in a behavioral health setting. The contract lasts 18 weeks for candidates without MOAB certification; if MOAB certification is in hand, the contract is 13 weeks. MOAB certification is provided by the facility at no cost. Failure to complete MOAB certification can result in contract termination. Daily patient care assignments will include adult and geriatric age groups. Common diagnoses include depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and neurocognitive disorders. The nurse will work in a team setting, where assignments are typically 1 nurse to 7 patients. The facility has a total of 47 beds divided across several units. Float between two adult psychiatric units and geriatric units is required. The role may involve crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques. Patients often require interventions for suicidal behavior, substance use, and self-injurious behavior. The ideal candidate should possess skills in medication administration and behavior management techniques. Participants will also engage in group activities facilitated by nursing and other healthcare professionals. This position requires flexibility in scheduling and adherence to facility policies.
