DIRECTOR of IMPACT - WEST COAST

The Honor Foundation (THF) is a unique transition institute created exclusively for U.S. Special Operations Community members to translate their elite military service to the private sector and develop the next generation of corporate and community leaders.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Director of Impact, West

Full-time/Part-time: Full-Time

Supervisor: Vice President of Impact

Location: California, Arizona, or Nevada

Date Available: 2026

Salary: $125,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus

The Honor Foundation is seeking a motivated, organized, well-spoken, and dynamic individual to fill the full-time Impact Director position for California, Arizona & Nevada in the United States.

The Impact Director will generate revenue to support The Honor Foundation's operating budget and long-term financial goals. The successful candidate will be a skilled relationship builder, as demonstrated via in-person and virtual communication platforms, and will have a proven ability to oversee all aspects of the donor engagement process, including identification, research, education, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. This person will manage a balanced portfolio of major donors, corporate partners, and foundation partners, and deliver value propositions through appropriate messaging to present opportunities that advance The Honor Foundation's mission. Portfolio responsibilities include finding new donors and maximizing retention to support The Honor Foundation's mission and vision. This individual will coordinate with other THF staff, such as marketing, operations, programs, and accounting, as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• (80%) Fundraising: 

• (50%) Major Donors
• Identify prospects through all available avenues, utilizing extensive networking, analytics tools, etc.
• Identify opportunities to engage donors with the organization
• Create tailored presentations for potential funding partners
• Manage timely and effective donor communications to cultivate donor relationships and maximize fundraising opportunities
• Deliver a consistent donor experience and increase referrals from current donors through high satisfaction with our philanthropic services
• (25%) Corporate Partnerships
• Identify, evaluate, and engage new and potential corporate funding partners via partnership and event opportunities.
• Present The Honor Foundation's mission and vision and utilize active listening to create meaningful partnerships that benefit THF and funding partners.
• Ensure clear and effective communication, maximizing THF's value
• (5%) Foundations
• Establish relationships with decision-makers and position The Honor Foundation for success in the grant process.
• Edit and collaborate with THF the grant manager

• (10%) Development Operations:

• (5%) Gift Tracking & Donor Stewardship 
• Ensure accurate gift reporting
• Ensure prompt and appropriate donor recognition and stewardship. Update donation tracking reports and assist with audits as necessary
• (5%) Database
• Enter and maintain accurate records in THF's CRM system
• Manage data integrity to ensure accurate and comprehensive donor and fund records

• (5%) Marketing: 
• Provide information to marketing as needed for the execution of events, funding partnerships, and stewarding relationships
• Revise Impact marketing documents
• Write, gather data, and procure departmental input to facilitate impact messaging

• (5%) Other Duties as Assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven track record of achieving goals and milestones
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation abilities
• Adept at developing and maintaining relationships with existing and potential funders
• Maintain a professional demeanor, good judgment, and be culturally sensitive
• Must be able and willing to travel regionally and nationally to represent The Honor Foundation at a variety of events, including military and civic engagements
• Ability and willingness to thrive in a team environment
• Ability to work independently in an unstructured environment 
• Ability to adapt and pivot quickly
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and remain aware of deadlines
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and suggest/provide solutions
• Display a positive & hard-working attitude
• High sense of urgency 
• Show a willingness and propensity to learn new skills 
• Extensive knowledge of the SOF community is strongly preferred
• Experience dealing with customers/donors and other professionals in work and social settings

Education and Experience Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent work-related experience
• 5+ years of fundraising, business development, or sales experience, showing increased responsibility
• Prior experience with CRM, wealth analytics tools, and online donation platforms. Previous experience with Salesforce and Classy preferred
• Experience with Zoom, G-Suite, Microsoft Office
• Active on Social Media sites for business development

Fast-paced, start-up environment

Remote work from home - internet capabilities required

Donor engagement meetings (virtual and in-person)

Travel required for meetings and special events

Evening and weekend work on occasion

Physical/Mental Demands

This position requires sitting and standing, which is associated with a typical office environment and web meetings. Manual dexterity using a computer keyboard. xhyhwjd Lifting and transporting materials up to 50 pounds in weight may be required.
