Field Service Technician

Role Description The Field Service Technician is a full-time role based in the Knoxville Metropolitan Area, with a mix of on-site visits to customer locations and working from the warehouse / shop. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up, installing hydration systems, performing routine maintenance and repairs, and troubleshooting technical issues to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. The technician will communicate with customers to explain service work, answer questions, and provide guidance on product use and care. This role also involves maintaining accurate service records, coordinating appointments, and collaborating with the broader team to uphold service agreements and warranty standards. The technician will represent Hydrophilic on-site, promoting a positive customer experience and supporting the company’s mission to deliver reliable, sustainable hydration solutions. Qualifications Demonstrated mechanical or technical aptitude, with experience installing, maintaining, or repairing equipment or appliances. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, or HVAC systems, or a strong willingness to learn these skills. Ability to diagnose issues, follow troubleshooting steps, and use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and build trust with diverse clients. Good organizational and time-management skills, including maintaining accurate service logs and managing daily schedules. Comfort with using mobile devices and basic software to document work, process service orders, and coordinate with the team. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within 2 hours of the Knoxville Metropolitan Area. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting equipment, standing for extended periods, and working in various on-site environments. High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or prior field service experience are a plus.
