Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7 AM) Experience: Minimum of 24 months of Med Surg/Telemetry or related experience required; previous travel experience preferred. License: Active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate license required. Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: - 24 months of current Med Surg/Telemetry or related experience - Skills Checklist specific to Med Surg/Telemetry - Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or similar within the last 24 months required - Documented driver's license Description: We are looking for a Registered Nurse specializing in Med Surg/Telemetry for a 13-week assignment. The position is for night shifts, requiring 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The nurse will be responsible for caring for patients in an observation unit, primarily dealing with ED observation and overnight stays. Patient ratios are typically 3:5 and a maximum of 2:7. The unit has a bed capacity of 16. Candidates must possess a strong background in Med Surg/Telemetry, as well as experience with EPIC electronic medical records. Experience with heparin administration is also required. Nurses will need to commit to working 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. Every other weekend will be part of the schedule. Candidates will be engaged in a variety of surgeries requiring overnight stays.
