Overview Company Description: SRO Associates, Inc., founded in 1996, is a Creative Design and Fabrication Company. SRO is a collaborative team of designers, artists, and production professionals serving attractions worldwide. We work in themed environments, museums, architecture and in a variety of entertainment industries. Our studio is on 8 acres of ranch land in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, a short distance outside of San Antonio. We build custom fabricated pieces ranging from finely finished museum exhibits, to themed scenery and signs, to monumental sculptural installations. Everything we design and build is custom. SRO works with metal, wood, sculpted foams and hard coats and a variety of other materials and finishes. SRO is searching for a Fabrication Shop Foreman to oversee our carpentry, welding and CNC departments. The position will include ensuring health and safety standards, QA/QC, maintaining production standards and documentation. The successful candidate will plan and organize production schedules and manage risk. You will collaborate with the Production Manager to manage fabrication methods and assignments, budgets, packing and shipping. This position will also require collaboration with other departments. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations of the fabrication shop (carpentry, welding, and CNC) to ensure safe, on-time, and high-quality output. Read and interpret plans or design briefs; collaborate with project managers and designers to plan production. Lead and mentor a team of fabricators and technicians; assign tasks and monitor progress. Manage material inventory, production schedules, methods, and workflow to optimize efficiency. Enforce health and safety protocols; ensure QA/QC adherence and proper documentation. Coordinate with other departments and support packing and shipping processes as needed. Maintain shop tools, equipment, and a well-organized, safe work environment; support process improvements. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, task delegation, and performance oversight in a fabrication or construction environment. Candidates should possess experience operating and overseeing equipment and shop machinery, with a commitment to safe work practices. Candidates should possess effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, designers, and project managers, and for documenting project status and issues. Candidates should possess hands-on carpentry skills and experience with fabrication, specialty builds, and working from technical drawings or plans. Candidates should possess maintenance skills for tools, equipment, and shop facilities, ensuring reliability and a well-organized work environment. Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in themed fabrication or attractions, knowledge of OSHA or similar safety standards, and familiarity with basic project scheduling or job costing. Significant experience in fabrication, carpentry, welding and/or a related field is preferred. Ability to stand, lift, and work with tools and equipment for extended periods, and to work collaboratively in a creative, deadline-driven setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr SRO Associates, Inc.
