Becton Dickinson seeks a Technical Writer for its Pharmacy Automation business to develop customer-facing and internal product documentation for automated pharmacy systems and software. The role involves creating user guides, installation manuals, and regulatory-compliant materials while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop product documentation including user guides, installation guides, service manuals, and release notes
- Review product specifications, drawings, and prototypes to create accurate documentation
- Create illustrations, flowcharts, diagrams, and product photos for technical materials
- Collaborate with quality, regulatory, marketing, and engineering teams on content and compliance
- Ensure document accuracy, clarity, and adherence to BD style guidelines and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or liberal arts
- 3+ years writing and editing hardware/software user guides and technical documentation
- Experience in regulated industry (pharmaceuticals or medical devices)
- Familiarity with electro-mechanical concepts and software applications
- SolidWorks Composer, XML-based CMS, and content delivery portal experience preferred
- Strong technical aptitude and spatial reasoning skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Compensation: $95,900–$153,400 USD annual plus incentives
