Information System Security Officer (ISSO) II (TS, w/ SCI Eligibility)

Position Description Security clearance requirement: TS, with SCI eligibility. Position requires US citizenship. Position Title: Information System Security Officer (ISSO) II. Location: Hanscom AFB, MA. The ISSO is responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for an information system and works in close collaboration with the ISSM and ISSO. The position has detailed knowledge and specialized expertise required to manage the security aspects of an information system and, in many organizations, is assigned responsibility for the day-to-day security operations of a system. This includes physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, and security training and awareness. The ISSO will work in coordination with the ISSM and ISO to monitor the information system(s) and its operating environment, develop and update authorization documentation, and implement configuration management across authorization boundaries. This includes assessing the security impact of changes and making recommendations to the ISSM. The primary function is to support Day-to-Day security operations within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting DoD agencies (e.g., HQ Air Force, OSD) and Military Compartments efforts. The position provides day-to-day security support for Collateral, SCI, and SAP activities. We are seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) II to carry out the following duties and responsibilities: Assist the ISSM in meeting duties and responsibilities Prepare, review, and update authorization packages Ensure approved procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying various types of hardware and media Notify ISSM when changes occur that might affect the authorization determination of the information system(s) Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package Coordinate changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals Ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (including any anomalies) Attend required technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management) relevant to assigned duties Execute the cyber security portion of the self-inspection, including providing security coordination and review of all system assessment plans Identify cyber security vulnerabilities and assist with the implementation of countermeasures Prepare reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems Perform ISSO duties in support of in-house and external customers Qualifications Required: 2-5 years related experience, especially in developing RMF packages or bodies of evidence Prior performance in roles such as System/Network Administrator or ISSO Current U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility Must be a U.S. Citizen Strong knowledge of RMF DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II Employee Benefits Competitive salary for well qualified applicants 401(k) plan Annual performance bonus Certification and advanced degree attainment bonuses Student Loan / Tuition reimbursement Health Care Insurance (medical, dental, vision) Up to four weeks of paid vacation 11 Federal Holidays, and 3 Floating Holidays Team bonding events RedTrace Technologies is an EOE employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
