SimpliFi Interview - Manager Final Approval Unit Information: Beds: ICU Beds: 18 Covid ICU Beds: 12, can flex up to 16 Census? Average patients/day? Minimum Years of Experience required? 18 months; CVICU experience preferred Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, must be strong Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: This ICU does everything except peds Cardiovascular: Fresh post-op CABG (3-5/wk.), TAVR (2-4/wk.), pacemaker insertion, ablation, chest pain, cardiac arrest, Preferred experience: IABPS, Impellas, CRRT Neuro: craniotomies (24h post-op), brain stimulator implantation, stroke, trauma, ventriculostomy, lumbar drains, bolts Medical/Surgical: sepsis, respiratory compromise, CHF, COPD, DKA, DTs, multisystem failure, ARDS, COVID Patient Ratios: 1:1-3, depending on acuity Required License, National Certification, Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required CCRN, TNCC preferred Will take basic rhythm test with clinical education once here Skills required: Experience with above patient types Hemodynamic lines, cardiac rhythm interpretation, vents, trachs, proning, hypothermia protocol, central line management, vasoactive drips/heparin/insulin drips, titration and management of sedation and paralytic medication, pain management, PIV start Support within the Department: Primary Care (no techs or CNAs on the unit) Charge RN may occasionally have patients HUC 24/7 also monitor tech Hospitalist 24/7 Intensivist 24/7 Cardiologist on call 24/7 PT,OT,ST (Days only) Phlebotomy for peripheral lab draws Technology/Equipment: EMR: Meditech IV Pump: Baxter Med dispensing: Pyxis Monitors: Unit specific equipment: Floating: If yes, where? Floating is done in rotation with other staff house wide IMC/Stepdown primarily pre/post cardiac patients (1:3 ratio) Medical Surgical 1:5 ratio with CNAs ED if they have the skillset Please add in offer email that floating has been verbalized and confirmed with the traveler Orientation (facility and unit): NEO will meet with clinical educator for policies, equipment, login setups, competencies, etc. 1 shift of unit orientation Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Every other weekend; occasionally may have back-to-back weekends, but not common On call? If so, what is that schedule? Holiday Expectations: 2 out of 3 major holidays in contract (if applicable) Approval of RTO: ok to approve up to 7 days. All holidays must go for approval Shift times: 0700-1930, 1900-0730 Schedule cycle: Scheduler makes schedules. Will attempt to do block scheduling whenever possible, cannot guarantee every week though Other notes: Scrub Color: Navy Blue Parking: Free, parking lot.
