Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The PICU RN provides specialized nursing care to pediatric patients recovering from surgeries or medical procedures in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). They are responsible for monitoring patient recovery, managing pain, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor pediatric patients' vital signs and recovery status continuously.
• Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions following physician orders.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, ensuring immediate intervention and patient safety.
• Collaborate with surgical and medical teams, communicating patient status and progress.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and timely.
• Educate families on post-operative care and discharge instructions.

Qualifications:

• Current California RN license with Nursys verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent pediatric or PACU nursing experience.
• Valid AHA or ARC certifications, including ACLS and BLS.
• Ability to assess, prioritize, and respond effectively to urgent situations.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
