About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Newton, Massachusetts, 02458!
Key Responsibilities- Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical or procedural interventions
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs, airway status, and level of consciousness during the recovery phase
- Administer medications and interventions as ordered, including pain management and antiemetics
- Communicate effectively with surgical, anesthesia, and nursing teams to ensure safe patient transitions
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the medical record
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or a compact state license accepted in MA
- Current BLS certification required
- Prior experience in a PACU or post-anesthesia care setting
- Ability to work night shifts with varied start times and rotating schedules
- Availability for on-call shifts as needed within the 6-week scheduling cycle
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with a high-volume or fast-paced surgical environment
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation systems
- Expected 36 hours per week in a specialized PACU setting, offering consistent clinical engagement
