CNC Machine Operator

Machine OperatorWe are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for analyzing blueprints for mechanical systems to determine the specifications of components to be constructed, constructing from raw materials, using welding equipment to fuse assembly components, and inspecting fabricated components to ensure they are sized correctly. You will also utilize various tools such as shears, power saws, cutting torches, and chipper knives to cut materials as needed and replace damaged or defective structural components.ResponsibilitiesSet up, program, and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, shears, and drill presses to cut, form, drill, and assemble metal components.Lay out parts for assembly by aligning parts or pieces to ensure proper assembly.Tack-weld fitted parts together.Analyze blueprints to determine component specifications.Inspect fabricated components for correct sizing.Essential SkillsFabrication skillsBlueprint readingMachine operation expertiseExperience with lathe and mill operationsAdditional Skills & QualificationsAbility to read a tape measureSet up and run CNC machinesMove parts of machine to ensure sheet metal is properly cut and bentWhy Work Here?Our company, established in 1965, has been a leader in designing, manufacturing, and servicing power quality needs globally. Schedule B works Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, followed by Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday the next week. There is no travel required.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
