Authorization Specialist

Authorization Specialist – Delray Beach, FL | Full-Time As an Authorization Specialist, you will play a critical role in securing insurance approvals and removing barriers to care, ensuring patients can start and continue treatment without interruption. What You’ll Do Manage prior authorizations, referrals, appeals, extensions, and reauthorizations from submission through approval. Review clinical documentation to ensure submissions meet payer and medical necessity requirements. Follow up with insurance carriers to monitor status and resolve authorization issues. Coordinate peer reviews, appeals, referrals, and medication access workflows. Maintain accurate documentation across EHR, CRM, and related systems. Partner with Case Managers and clinical teams to support timely patient care. What We’re Looking For Experience with prior authorizations, insurance verification, medical billing, or related healthcare operations. Knowledge of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payer requirements. Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with AdvancedMD, Salesforce, and Availity preferred. Preferred Experience TMS, Spravato, or specialty behavioral health authorization experience. Familiarity with REMS and Spravato With Me programs. Knowledge of specialty pharmacy or Buy & Bill workflows. Non‑exempt salaried employees accrue vacation (.625) and personal time (.29166) per pay period, while full‑time exempt employees are eligible for Flex‑PTO with no accrual.
