Position Overview

JOB DESCRIPTION 
The position is responsible for supervising all assigned warehouse departments in such a manner that material flow is processed efficiently and accurately while meeting defined productivity and cost objectives.  The person in this position is also responsible for ensuring all company policies and procedures are followed. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
• Must be able to operate various power industrial equipment (forklifts) 
• Ensure material is received and shipped correctly and efficiently 
• Assign sales orders to material handlers 
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting 
• Meet defined productivity, safety and cost objectives 
• Coordinate efficient material and workflow through all warehouse departments 
• Develop and implement process improvements 
• Maintain good housekeeping 
• Train material handlers in job responsibilities 
• Ability to train and instruct new forklift operators 
• Regularly conduct evaluations of forklift operators 
• Effectively manage assigned work force 
• Discipline within company guidelines 

Supervisory Responsibility 
This position is responsible for supervising all warehouse employees.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to motorized material handling equipment, works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand.  The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and clime and balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  
The employee must constantly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work 
This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Occasional overtime work is required.  It is essential that the Warehouse Supervisor spend 95% of his/her time in the warehouse performing their duties. 

Required Education and Experience 
• GED or High School Diploma 

Qualifications/ Skills2 
• Basic ability to read, write and understand English 
• Solid ability to follow verbal and written directions 
• Basic math skills including fractions 
• Basic understanding of computers 
• Ability to work in a team environment

Employee is responsible for compliance with all safety rules, regulations and policies. Employee responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
• Complying with all safety rules and regulations 
• Reporting any unsafe practice and/or conditions to management 
• Wearing required personal protective equipment properly, including safety shoes 
• Reporting all near misses, accidents, injuries or illnesses to management
