Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care UnitAmerican TravelerMonroe, North Carolina, United StatesAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1$2,059.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring at least 18 months of PCU experience and NC or compact RN licensure.Details11-bed Progressive Care Unit within a 174-licensed-bed hospitalPatient population includes stroke, heart failure, chest pain, COPD, cardiac cath pre/post, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, respiratory illness, GI disorders, liver failure, and AKI/CKD casesRN to patient ratio of 1:3-4 and CNA ratio of 1:5-612-hour night shift schedule, 1900-0700, 36 hours per weekEvery other weekend rotation requiredNo on-call requirements for travelersFloating required as needed within Union and across Region 2 facilities (Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division) within scope of practiceNo dedicated telemetry monitoring tech; nurses are responsible for reading monitors and respondingUses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitorsRequirementsActive RN license (NC or Compact) requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredMinimum 18 months of PCU RN experience requiredExperience managing critical care drips including insulin, nitroglycerin, Cardene, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, heparin, and blood productsGeneral PCU skillset required including stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion)Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for considerationAt least one professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RNAdditional InformationSupport team includes CNAs, HUC/receptionist, 24/7 charge nurse, phlebotomy for peripheral draws, IV/VAT team, resource nurse as available, 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage, plus 24/7 virtual nursing supportOrientation includes NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientationTravelers are expected to work 75% of holidaysRTO requests require Resource Team approvalNavy scrubs requiredFree parking availableCandidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not acceptedPrevious employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent positionFirst-time travelers are not preferred but will be considered
